I received my PhD in Exercise, Nutrition, and Preventive Health from Baylor University (USA). Thereafter I completed a NIH IRACDA postdoctoral fellowship at Haskell Indian Nations University and the University of Kansas (Native Medicinal Plant Research Program). Currently, I am a co-instructor for an ethnomedicine course I designed (First Nations University of Canada and the University of Regina). I have 3 lines of scholarly inquiry: (1)complementary and alternative medicine (e.g., natural health products and traditional medicine),(2)exercise and nutrition interventions, and (3)science education research. I support the indigenization of post-secondary STEM education, in response to the TRC's calls to action.
